In our efforts to reach out to fellow Christians we must be conscious not to overlook the needs of those of other faiths or none. It has been pointed out to me on occasion that the only group which led to anger from Jesus was a ‘Church’. It wasn’t the atheists or even those who are indifferent but those who claim to do God’s will when the make others suffer. Yet Jesus forgave even them….
Evangelization has always been a part of what it is to be Christian. Jesus himself asked His followers to go out and spread the Good News. The problem here is that many modern evangelists are too much for many to handle….they come on too strong. Jesus told us to live lives of charity and in so doing to lead others to do the same.
The time to go door to door spouting miracle stories has passed. What is called for is a true witness to the faith. Many people have become disallusioned with the Church after years of scandle. What is needed is for Christians to live out the Gospel values and not be afraid to let others see. This will re-awaken in others a sense of what being a Christian really means.

Yes all of us Catholics need to learn how to just BE Catholic, Christ centred and love others. Real love calls for looking at the Heart and begins with ourselves. Religion has to be heart not head ! It begins with loving Christ and letting Him love us. You only have to look at so called Catholic colleges or seminaries to see the results of the head over heart !
