What am I allowed???
While browsing other Christian blogs I came across the topic ‘Is “MySpace” ok for Christians?’ on christianblog.com. The discussion veered towards Bible quotes and religious fanaticism as the ‘battle’ began against the ‘evil’ that was seen as MySpace. I don’t want to go near that road but I do want to talk about the question.
For those of you not aware of the site MySpace is a site used for discussion and socialising. It has captured the imagination of the world and most teenagers and those in their twenties and thirties now use it. It is a sort of cyber hang out which has an endless list of discussion topics. The blog mentioned above refers to it as “a Sodom and Gomorrah of the Internet” and parts of it are. But is it not up to the subscriber what they want to see? Everything is on the site and, like life, such ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’ areas do exist….but it’s not the whole site by a long shot.
The main question to ask here though is ‘Is it right to live by a form of Christianity which holds laws at it’s core? No-one can say that MySpace is right or wrong for Christians as, like the Internet itself, everything is there. A laziness seems to exist where Christians would prefer to be told what to do rather than use their own conscience.
Jesus fought against such a way of life which existed in Israel at the time. Is such a ‘Christian’ way today not straying from the path He set?
The Church has laws to guide us not control us. To be a Christian is not to be held hostage in such an ancient cage of bureaucracy but to be set free.

Friend, I guess you missed the whole point of the Blog you were referring to here. It was not posted as a legalistic attempt in any way. It was a blog written for discussion. If you had read through the whole blog you would see that.
As an Evangelist that goes into many place’s “Religious” Christians do not go, I would have to state that I am far from Lazy. The Christians posed was one that questioned whether MySpace is safe for all Christians. Would I want my son or daughter there? No, I surely would not, for they are not equipped at a young age to fend off that which is thrown around there. Any more than I would want my child going into a bar.
When one speaks of missing the path that Jesus set, I think you will find that it is true in the sense as to those caught up in Religion. Yet, if one walks in the Path of Christ as a true Christian, they have been freed from Religion, which was what Jesus spoke against in reference to Israel at that time, and they would speak the heart of the Father, not the mind of what man believes is Christ like.
