Wouldn’t it be nice?
I thought I’d take the time to just discuss a few random thoughts…Here goes:
Wouldn’t it be nice if our government could actually begin to do what it was elected to do and not have to await the outcome of a tribunal to determine how fit our leader is to run the country?
It seems crazy to me that all tribunals seem to do is determine that most politicians are absent minded and cannot remember any meetings that took place or any “donations” that were made to them at a particular time. However if they are seeking election they will gladly roll off figures to tell how well they have done in the last 5, 10, 15 years in serving their constituency.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t have to consider that it could be possible for a parent or grandparent to be responsible for a child either going missing or being murdered? It’s frightening prospect to think of that happening, when the automatic nature of parental figures should be to protect those who are unable to protect themselves. It’s a media circus at the moment in relation to the McCann and Lawrenson families and there are more occurrences such as these then it will only get worse.
Wouldn’t it be nice if celebrity and reality television stopped the front pages of newspapers and the headlines of the news programmes? Britney Spears messes up her lip synching, so what? Michael Barrymore may not be able to resume his career’, so what? The former husbands of Pamela Anderson start fighting and are thrown out of the MTV awards, again so what?
There are millions of people with problems far greater then these people and are given little or no coverage in the media because they are not ‘newsworthy’. With so much suffering and poverty and everything else going on in the world itamazes me how the trivial matters seem to get the most attention.
I am not interested in whether Jim Davidson is a bigot, I don’t care how sensitive Brian [Dowling] is. I just want to be inspired by Marco[Pierre White]. What’s the point in hiring Picasso to teach painting if all you focus on is if the students get on.

One last thing, Wouldn’t it be nice if all the troops could come back from Iraq now instead a possible 30,000 Americans sometime next year? I sometimes wonderwould it better served having the two leaders of the nations in conflict put on boxing gloves and let Don King promote it on Pay Per View? There’d be a lot less bloodshed that way.
Maybe that is what the next reality television show should be?
