On The Lighter Side

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Celebrity: How far would you go?

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Celebrity, in my opinion, is a drug. There are some that would sell their own grandmother to have it and some will even use murder to find some way of staying in the spotlight.
It’s almost like Gollum in the Lord of The Rings screaming “My precious” whenever he is closer to the ring. So if [...]

Standing up to a bully

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Finally it has happened. Finally someone has taken a reasonable stand against a so called “Leader” of a country who deprives his citizens of the basics needed to live and work properly.
Ok, I realize that refusing to attend a summit if, Zimbabwe’s President, Robert Mugabe attends might smack as a small gesture but at least [...]

Remembering the departed.

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

From my own experiences of losing a family member, I know that it can sometimes be too painful to  go and visit their grave. Sometimes it can just simply be  a case of time healing all wounds and we let their memory fade and the need to visit lessens.

It’s Friday and here’s a selection of mood lightening to balance out all the heavy issues that I tend to cover.
Firstly we have the story in Bognor Regis, West Sussex  where a baby hedgehog miraculously survived a an hour-long 40C cycle in a washer.

Why hurt the old?

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

Attacking old people is something I really do not understand. We hear of stories of pensioners being assaulted on their doorstep just  yours can get a small amount of money to feed whatever addiction they have.
On some occasions it seems it is just done for fun and the mind boggles as to how someone can [...]
