The Fragile Mind
How much do we suppress? Everyone has thoughts and things that affect us that we choose not to deal with and because of that it can be doing far more damage to us then we realise.
I know from my own experience that emotions that if we fail to deal with as they happen, they can have a lasting affect that can take years to fully realise and overcome.
I think the mind is an amazing tool that can store so much information while at the same time hiding things from us in order to help keep us safe. Of course like all things machine like, they can break down if they are not looked after and the more stresses and strains that you put it under the more likely you are to fully lose your grip on it.
I have a friend who is a hypnotherapist, she believes that there is a lot that can be cured but says that normal therapy can just try to solve everything with the one method. She offers hypnotherapy course on everything from quitting smoking to painless child birth (I never thought that was possible but hey what do I know!)
My point is how far must we delve into the mind before we can really and truly become what we are supposed to be? Do we leave everything to chance and say if it happens it was meant to be? Or do we go out and try and make a life for ourselves because what we are told is that you cannot get anything for free and that it must be worked on.
I think that there’s always a balance to be had, there’s always more to be achieved and you cannot rest on your laurels. However if we cannot deal with our past, how can even attempt to be ready for what is to come in the future?
