The Lighter Side
To the lighter side we go again, firstly we go to London and to the site of the 2012 Olympics.
It has been revealed that more than 160 feral cats and kittens have been rescued from the site as demolition work continues.
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) said on Friday that 168 animals had been discovered and were now in the care of the Celia Hammond Animal Trust.
The trust has been allowed access to the demolition site before building work begins later in the year.
Moving on to Serbia and a local hospital has put a ban on gossip.
Grumpiness, gossiping, mini-skirts and rudeness are just some of the things banned through new rules posted on the ministry’s Web site, which goes on to say staff are not allowed to criticise their hospital or their superiors, and should not accept gifts for their services.
Apparently Hospital staff are often bribed with cash or gifts for attention or better treatment.
And finally onto India, where a training camp for this month’s Thomas and Uber Cup qualifiers because of a lack of shuttlecocks. 30 players were due to start training on Thursday but were sent home with Badminton Officials blaming the state-run Sports Authority of India (SAI) for not supplying the stock or allowing them to import.
The SAI chief Ratan Watal told the Times of India that supplies would be made soon and that bird flu in China were hindering imports.
