Running (for, to and from our problems)
As sore as I may be this morning, I have to say I had fun running in the Temple Street Hospital 5K Fun Run in the Phoenix Park yesterday.
I decided to do it to prove to myself that I could, but also to support a good cause and raise much needed funds, something that is harder and harder to achieve nowadays.
From what I could see yesterday there were at least 500 people there, young and old and in various outfits (before you ask I wasn’t dressed up in a costume).
It was good, a lot of fun was had and I hope that a lot of money will be raised because of it.
My uncle said that after doing this I should be ready for the Dublin Marathon! 5km, yesterday…26 miles in October? I might take a few months just to run 26 miles!
As a small footnote and to totally change the subject. It amazes me in how we can make such technological discovery and development in producing pictures from Mars and yet we cannot come up with answer for why young teenagers are being stabbed every day and to why there are poor, starving and neglected people in the world.
I’d love to see us focus on the problems on this planet before we go about discovering another.
