The week that was

by Mike

A few thoughts…

It’s been an interesting few days for me, as I have experienced a number of different things coming together all at once. Thankfully they have all been positive.

I was over in England visiting some friends that I had not seen in a long time and it can become quickly obvious how you notice how things can change.  It is also amazing to me how much of a gathering in concerts can almost be something like a religious experience, because in effect thousands  of people worship the person they see on stage.

It is a feat to behold and if you can take something away from it, I do not see how it can be a bad thing.

Staying on the subject of gatherings, I watched in amazement yesterday at the Wimbledon Men’s Tennis Final between Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal.

Two players completely at the top of their game produced a great game and took it right to the limit.  I often wonder about those who say they have no interest in sport. I’m not saying that it is wrong but at the same time I think there is such emotion and mostly positive reactions in sport that it would be hard not to get something from it, then again there are other forms of entertainment that can provide that for others.

With so much negativity recently, it is nice to be able to come out with something that is a bit more positive.

    Hi Mike,
I have some thoughts to share with you from Canada. I don’t know if you have heard the news that abortionist Henry Morgentaler was awarded the Order of Canada by Our Governor General, on Tuesday July 1, Canada Day. The Order of Canada is a prestigious award bestowed on persons who have made a significant contribution to the well being of Canada and Canadians.
We are still reeling with shock and anger by this news and needless to say we will not take this lying down. For this to happen in a country, the foundation of which was laid down by Catholics who immigrated from Ireland and France many years ago bringing with them the richness of their Catholic Faith, is a very sad commentary of just how immoral we have become. In Canada today for every three live births, one baby is aborted. Most people are unaware that in Canada it is legal to have an abortion any time during a pregnancy. There are no restrictions what soever.
A little bit about Morgentaler: He has been a leader in promoting the availability of abortion in Canada. His claim to fame is giving Canada twenty years of abortion-on-demand. Millions of babies in the womb have been slaughtered. He has set up private abortion facilities in almost every province, thus putting added financial strain on our health care system. Doctors are men and women who heal and save lives. Morgentaler, instead chooses to dedicate his practice to killing unborn Canadian children, leaving behind wounded women and fragmented families and for this he has received the highest honor. What a blight on our Country
If you go to my website http://mycatholicchurch.googlepages.com/ You will find a link to the Annunciation of the Lord website in Ottawa where you can vote to have Morgentaler’s award revoked. FYI Also I have added links to many of the pertinent news articles associated with this event It would be greatly appreciated if you would help us get the word out about this awful day in Canadian history. It seems like a bad dream that this would happen in here. Thanks Mike and God Bless you!

    For life,
    Maureen Ward,
    Canada

    Hello Mike,
Maureen has expressed very well the sentiments that most Canadians feel regarding the Order of Canada going to a bloke such as Dr (I use that term very loosely) Morgantaler. I cannot reconcile how any doctor or medical professional can participate in harming a defenceless unborn baby. Then for a county like Canada, we supposed to compassionate, could be stupid enough to reward the king of abortion. He is a survivor of the Nazi regime, his parents were not so lucky. Please pray for Canada.
