The Kids Aren’t Alright?
A wedding is a very special occasion that the family should be involved in right? And by family it should be all the family including young children.
Which is why I was surprised to read about the allegation of the Vicar who ordered that a couple’s two year old son to leave the church during their wedding in Fenton, England.
I realise that it is a Church of England wedding and therefore the subject matter may not be the exactly right to discuss’ however in any religion, is this not a strange decision?
I do know that it can be a worry for some couples because of the large amount of money that can be spent on weddings and that young children being present might “ruin” the day, but at the same time there’s more of a chance that it would enhance it.
I realise that there are memories to be had from a wedding and a wedding video that contains a young child screaming the house down in tiredness might not be what a bride and groom want, but at the end of it all there is no wedding that will ever be truly perfect.
At the end of it all, it’s about opinion and everyone is entitled to one. If it were me , I think I’d wouldn’t not invite a relative of mine who was young, based solely on that reason alone.
It’s not just a day for the couple, it is a chance for family and friends to take and be a part of the experience.
Anyway if most weddings are anything to go by, it is not young children that have to be worried about, no weddings will always be remembered for the increasingly peculiar “Dad Dancing” that seems to rear its head!
