Name, Shame and Humble

by admin

Many of you will have read the recently proposed plans of the British Government to force those who commit knife crimes to meet their and other victims of stabbings. I think it is something that should be considered the world over.

It seems to me that stabbings and murder are considered something of a badge of honour to those in teen gangs, and in other gangs, and there appears to be little of no remorse for this. So with that in mind the only way I can see someone looking for forgiveness for such a crime is to shame and humble the person first.

Victims and their families need to know something is getting done, that justice actually can exist, and not be in a society where anyone can commit crimes and not hold any fear of their getting caught.

So why not educate ? Why not try and show people the error of their ways? Why not show that there is more in preserving life, then taking it? I think it can only help.

There are stories of teenagers in American cities who, after committing minor crimes, are forced to walk the streets wearing sandwich boards that detail their crime. When there is so much confidence in those who carry a weapon around with the intention of  using it on another, they have to know that they are not above the law and that their actions have far reaching consequences.
