Sinister with no solution?
Sometimes bad things can result from a prank gone wrong and you only hope that the original intention was not to deliberately set out to hurt anyone.
However in the case of an incident at Faringham Road Station in Kent, I’m not sure this can be called a prank, more like sinister. A 58 year old was pushed onto the railway tracks after she had told two men to stop smoking.
Luckily the woman suffered only bruises and a broken wrist after landing inches from the third rail which was live and carried 750 volts. According to the police, it appeared that the woman had spoken to the two men about smoking earlier in the week.
So the suggestion is that this was pre-planned and in that regard it is something that amazes me. Maybe it shouldn’t and maybe I’m giving people more credit then I should. However it takes some effort and an incredibly bad mindset to even consider committing this act in a split second decision, let alone take time to consider it.
I had read in the papers during the week the suggestion that teenagers should take their aggression out by learning to box and maybe there is some justification for this to not only apply to teenagers. Anger and hatred seem to dominate more in society and we do not seem to be able to keep up with these emotions and try to find an intelligent sane way around it to promote better ways to solve matters.
I hope those two men are brought to justice, I hope that we can find the reasons for why these things can happen quickly enough to develop a solution.
