The future isn’t what it used to be…which is a good thing

by Mike

This is just meant to be a quick line to say congratulations to all who received their results today in the Leaving Cert.

Some will be delighted with their results, and hopefully that is the great majority, while others will rue decisions made before that may have cost them the course they wanted to study.

As I say, hopefully this is not the case and that all students can go on to do what they want instead of what they have to.

From my point of view, I knew what I wanted to do but had to take a PLC course first to do it and to be honest that year was a great one because you get a sense of freedom for the first time, not having to be some constraint in what you have to learn and remember. There’s more of a chance to learn what you want and hopefully develop a passion for it.

So to those that are not happy with the results they have, there’s still a chance to turn things around, because where you start might not necessarily be where you end up.

Long gone are the days when I was a student, but I’m still learning. I like the title by the way.
