When the well is dry, we know the worth of water. – Benjamin Franklin

It seems like  we are going back to the dark ages (well maybe not the dark ages, but certainly a long time ago) with the news that residents of Gort in Co. Galway are being told to boil all tap water before using it.

Galway County Council have insisted that this water contamination is more then likely linked to the recent heavy rainfall and not the outbreak of Cryptosporidium from last year.

Now maybe it is true and the two cannot be linked and it is just an unusual set of circumstances, however if it is a case of having all the time to resolve the problem and they haven’t managed, or tried, to come up with anything then the question would be what exactly are the “experts” being paid for?

It seems crazy to think we are in modern times, with all the things we can build with the drop of a hat and yet we still have to worry about  the quality of our water supply.
