“To suffering there is a limit; to fearing, none.” - Francis Bacon

America seems to be on the ropes recently , taking punch after punch with no end in sight.

The news that Hurricane Gustav could tear the country apart once more will be another blow for everyone concerned. It will not do anything to allay fears about the economy, nor will it bring any comfort to those in New Orleans who had suffered so much in the last few years.

From all accounts, New Orleans is now a “ghost town” and lessons appear to have been learned and ,instead of staying until the last minute, people are leaving.

Is it a case of what goes around, comes around? I don’t know but it does seem that disaster is never  far off, maybe the world is fighting back after the ages it has gone through and also the damage that we’ve done to it?

If there was an easy answer there may be an easier solution to resolve all of this, but  from the point of view of those in New Orleans, they are not sitting around waiting for things to happen. Maybe being proactive can result in a different outcome to this potential tragedy.

1,800 people lost their lives in 2005 thanks to Hurricane Katrina, let’s hope it doesn’t happen again…anywhere.
