All cruelty springs from weakness – Seneca
I wonder, how people can be so cold and cruel…and more importantly evil. After reading the story of James Howson, I am none the wiser as to why this all happens.
The 25 year old was yesterday convicted of murdering his 16th month old daughter Amy, after he held her over his knee and broke her back in two.
Amy’s mother, Tina Hunt had earlier admitted allowing the death of a child and child cruelty. The pair are due to be sentenced on Friday and it was revealed that the child had over 40 injuries and was malnourished and dehydrated for months.
The pictures of Howson the image of an evil looking man and he denies having committed this act stating that his partner was to blame and he “did not inflict any injuries on my daughter at all.” He has admitted smoking cannabis and that after finding bruising on her forehead, took her downstairs and after smoking a joint feel asleep with Amy.
I have often wondered why you do not need a licence to be a parent, because some people are suited to tasks and areas more then others. Yet due to the nature of becoming a parent, there is no manual, instruction or rigid way to look after and nurture a child.
If there were maybe the furthest thing from anyone’s mind would have been to allow someone like James Howson to become a parent at all or for that matter Tina Hunt.
At the end of it all child cruelty is just not acceptable. We want children to learn and discipline is part of the learning curve but at the same time, inflicting injury and suffering cannot be tolerated.

pain and suffering i find is caused by silence and fear.our so called reporters print only what they feel will do the job they seem to be full of fear so we dont hear the truth.A@e in bouemont hospital is like a nazi concentration camp i cannot get a reporter to stay with me up there for a few hours even thought i am prepaired to pay them.A doctor broke a patients arm on 10th august09. my partners x ray was read wrong in A @ E 3days later she had to go to the proper x ray department now she has to attend the fracture clinic on thursday 13th aug 09 i myself was isolated for 7 days suppected swine flu and even thought there was a nurse in the room with me i had to wait 2hrs for a small glass of water if you make a fuss these wardens who maskerade as sucurity men are called in. so lel our reporters get some guts and print the truth.
