Racists are irrational and illogical in their attempts to justify their prejudices. – Sargent Shriver

Just when things were a little too quiet, the racism card has reared its ugly head again, only this Prince Harry is the subject for debate.

Calling a fellow soldier “a Paki”, to me cannot be justified but then I am someone that is at a loss to explain how someone can be derogatory towards an entire race.

It is difficult enough to hate one person, but I just do not understand why these phrases exist for different races or creeds. The phrases themselves are just horrible words, that they should leave a bad taste in the mouth after saying them.

It unfortunately does exist. Personally I think it shows a lack of class and intelligence, which is all the more reason why a member of the Royal Family should make the comment.

Maybe it was just an attempt at being one of the boys, something which he wouldn’t have had that much experience in being around. Maybe it had something to do with his Grandfather, Prince Phillip, who has been known for his brass, crude and somewhat idiotic comments when on goodwill trips.

Either way the Royal Family are considered, and they consider themselves, to be above the majority of us in terms of etiquette.

There is nothing that can make the phrase sound right, because too much hurt and abuse has resulted in the phrases in the first place.

It sounds cheap and coming from a family who are anything but, they really do need to nip this in the bud. The last thing anyone wants is for this kind of talk to become popular again.
