The most important thing in illness is never to lose heart. ~Nikolai Lenin
For once I do not disagree with celebrity and before the news of Jade Goody’s cancer being terminal, I didn’t think I would say that.
I have to give credit to her because of the way she has taken on her fight against cervical cancer. There are people who criticise her for the money she has made and the publicity generated in the past week in the lead up to her wedding.
However I see her going public with all of this as the best way to go. Cancer is a horrible disease and while many things accelerate it, there are just occasions when it takes who it wants regardless of who or what the person is.
Young people look at celebrities with awe and so if this has made them ask questions and think about going for screenings and health checks then hopefully they can catch it at a treatable stage.
She has received a lot of money for her story , her status and what little is unfortunately left of her life, but if someone is crazy enough to pay that, why should she not accept it. She has two young children to think about and if she can leave them financially secure for their childhood and beyond, it will not make up for the loss of their mother but it will be something.
Hopefully someday there will be a way to end cancer for good, because I do not really believe that no matter how bad or good you have been in your life, that you deserve to die in that way and in that much pain.

Very much agree. It is sad for Jade facing terminal cancer. But she is a very positive role model in how she wanted to marry the father of her children and wants to have her children Baptised. The publicity resulting from her illness will convince people to look after their health – especially women in danger of getting cervical cancer.
