The Lighter Side
To the Lighter Side we go with more stories to take the seriousness out of the week.
First we go to England, where love at first sight hit in the most unusual of places. Sally-Ann Spruce returned to her car to find traffic warden Aaron Oseland writing her a ticket for parking on a double yellow line.
Ms Spruce, 24, immediately fell for the warden’s smile and ask for his phone number. One year later they are married and currently on honeymoon in Devon.
She said: “It sounds strange but when he smiled I fell for him. We got chatting, the next thing we were going out.” Aaron, 22, of Wednesbury, West Mids, said: “I gave her a £30 fine and my phone number. We’re not supposed to get into a conversation – but I knew she was the one.”
Staying in England and two Star Wars fans from Amesbury, Wiltshire signed a marriage pre-nup so they can’t get the other’s sci-fi collections if they split up.
And finally we leave on a nice note as a worshipper in Sweden left over €9,000 in a church collection
The unidentified woman, believed to be in her seventies, made the gift last Sunday after pastors appealed for donations for international aid projects, at the Caroli Church in the south western Swedish town of Boraas.
The Church wardens opened the envelope to find a note that said 100,000 kronor (€9,200). The church has already stated the funds will go towards projects to help aid developing countries.
