Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life. ~S.D. Gordon
I hope everyone has had a very enjoyable Easter weekend so far. Thankfully, in Ireland at least, we have had good weather to follow it.
I was happy to read of the comments of Pope Benedict XVI today, where he has called for peace and reconciliation in the Middle East and Africa.
I think peace and reconciliation are not only required there but across the world, and I realise Pope Benedict wishes for world peace. I am sure many of us have seen the images from Thailand where chaos is ensuing all in the name of one party being right and the powers that be are said to in the wrong.
Whoever is right or wrong in this instance, it cannot stop or change the fact that this is a powder keg waiting to go off. Maybe those who take their protests to a violent level feel that they do not have an alternative but to destroy in the name of their belief.
I hope it is sorted out and as soon as possible. A situation where people are in harms way, situations where protesters can be found hanging off weapons which can cause mass destruction is not something that can or should be taken lightly.
May Pope Benedict’s message be echoed by many and be carried out to its fullest extent.
