To celebrate or to mourn?

I had to go to a funeral service today and as I watched the mourning friends and family in the church; subsequently in the graveyard and the reception, a thought struck me. How are we actually meant to act, apart from respectful, during a funeral?

Paying the penalty

So who is “I am”

We are told about our relationship with God being personal and yet mankind is said to have a communal relationship with Him. We are told of the face of God as father, protecter etc., yet we each see God differently. Can these views be reconciled with one another or are they contradictory?
