Pain and suffering

Cruelty, like every other vice, requires no motive outside of itself; it only requires opportunity - George Eliot

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

The world can be a cruel place…there can be no doubt about that.  It is mainly the older generation that tend to have a fear of the internet and because of that it is deemed to be responsible for many problems in the world.
I would argue that there were many things before the age of [...]

The only way is…?

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Is there only one way? Is there ever a real wrong when so many different religions, factions, nations and people believe that they are in the right?  I honestly have no idea but I can freely state that the mind boggles with the variety of punishments given for some crimes.

Pity the poor?

Monday, November 26th, 2007

I’m sure many of us walk past the homeless and do not give them a second thought or glance for that matter. I unfortunately have a sceptical view of homeless men; I don’t know why the same does not apply for women, in that they are only out on the streets begging to feed a [...]

Wellness is a connection of paths: Knowledge and Action. - Josh Welch

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

How horrible must it be to think that something in your life that you thought had gone away, was always there because you were given the wrong information?
“Who runs the Republic’s health service?” was the headline of a story on BBC’s news website yesterday. I would respond with the answer “Who runs the country?”

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

When the Madeleine McCann first broke in May there was widespread interest as to the whereabouts of the four-year old. After the apparent situation could have happened to any parent on holiday and with that a close bond was formed between those who have young children of empathy and sympathy.
Fast forward to the present and [...]

Stop The Hurt

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

I once knew of a woman, from my university days, who admitted to me one night that she had been beaten by her boyfriend. The one thing that struck a chord with me was her revelation that, upon being hit for the first time, it was “so out of character and not like him at [...]

Depression

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Depression is a horrible thing. Speaking from personal experience I can tell you  that right there and then you believe that no one in the world understands what you are feeling or going through and that no one will ever have a chance of helping you come back to a more stable state of mind.
The [...]

The only definition of a leader is someone who has followers. - Peter Drucker

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

A lot of crimes go unpunished in the world. It has happened long before I was born and will continue to happen long after my death.
As I’ve stated many time, we all have a belief that the further away something is, the less we are bothered by it. With that in mind I give you [...]
